I just wanted to let everyone know that this stuff really works — I am now officially unemployed for the first time in my adult life, and the company that I worked for will probably be forced to close its doors soon thanks to socialist economics and super-hero Barack Obama.
And with reduced competition and the inflation that trillions of dollars worth of un-backed curency flooding the market will cause, you can be sure that the products we used to bring you will increase in price while your wages drop and your money becomes worthless.
Thanks Obama — Lovin’ the change!

Marty~
I am so glad I found you and for the reconnection! Love ya! Chantal
Sorry to hear about your job! We are here for you if you need ANYTHING! Hope things will look up soon! At least you have family to lean on even if you just need some cheering up!
So sorry about the job loss. I hope things pick up, and you’re able to find something soon (something even better!)
(Like the cartoon, though.)
Thanks guys, but don’t worry about me, I’ll be just fine. I’m thinking a new government job might be lucrative. I hear it’s the one sector that’s really growing and expanding these days!
We are in the same boat. No job loss, just housing loss. Four homes on our block have recently sold for less than $45,000. This is a neighborhood that just 24mos ago was valued in the $270,000 range. Yes, we could hold on and put retirement off for another 30 years, but we’ll probably be dead by then. Retirement at our house is not defined by the retirement savings amassed. Social workers don’t get retirement accounts, they rely on making good real estate investments to help see them through their retirement years. Thanks, corporate greed! Thanks house democrats that blocked regulation of the mortgage industry, yes Barney I’m talking to you and Nancy.
I’m really sorry to hear of your job and company situation. Coupled with everything else, heavy sigh.
See, I’m making friends already!
Marty, that is a sucky birthday present. The oil refinery I work at is hiring operators right now. I sent the info to you on the ‘about’ page of the blog but am posting here as well to make sure you get the info in time. They are only accepting applications through this Saturday (oct 4). If you did not get the info for some reason, drop me an e-mail and I’ll get it to you. I think you would really enjoy the job and the pay/benefits are pretty decent.
I am far more concerned about our Nation and it’s ridiculous government representation, than I am about our family. We’ll be fine. Thank you all for your concern.
My husband is fantastic and he is actually doing such a great job at home, I think it’s a wonderful idea to encourage him to stay home for a while. PAUL, just today has baked a fresh batch of bread, cleaned the house and has given Ethan a bath. It is a real delight.
It’s very intriguing to me how blessings stumble across our lives, in the oddest designed packages.
Babe’s, you’re fantastic.
